Marriage and Family Therapist LMFT

This is a full time (40+ hours) permanent position.  
4x 10 hour days or 5x 8 hour days.

Marriage and Family Therapist  (LMFT) will provide psychotherapy and mental health counseling services to Evolve clients and their families in collaboration with Evolve staff and the clinical/executive director.

LMFT’s provide assessment and behavioral health treatment services to individuals, couples, family, IOP/PHP and groups as determined by the needs of the clients served by Evolve. Also, facilitating at least one IOP/PHP group or other group depending on needs.  LMFT’s provide additional services as requested by the clinical/executive director. Lastly, LMFT objectively support Evolves program mission for healing, innovation and outcome-measured outpatient care philosophy.

  • Maintain client contact hours of 25+ clients/couples/families and facilitates at least one group per week. In the event that there is an additional group offered (Non IOP) by you then the case load expectations can be dropped down to 22 for each week you are offering that group. 
  • Schedule should look  like this:
    • 25 clt contact hours
    • 1-IOP/PHP group (2-3 hours)
    • 8 hours of notes, treatment planning and case management
    • 3 hours of staff meeting
    • For a total of 37-38 hours so there is extra room for seeing clients or admin time.
  • When offering an additional group the schedule will look like this:
    • 22 clt contact hours
    • 1-IOP/PHP group (2-3 hours)
    • 1 group (5 hours for the actual group and prep and planning)
    • 9 hours of notes, treatment planning and case management
    • 3 hours of staff meeting
  • For each assigned case, assess client needs and establish a differential diagnosis, develop and implement a treatment plan, evaluate client progress and discharge and/or refer client for further treatment, support or education. 
  • Provide appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes and billing and submit said documentation as specified by Evolve, insurance and state standards. 
  • Ensure services are provided with client-centered healing approaches and is delivered through goal specific interventions.
  • Develop and manage client records from initial assessment through discharge. Maintain the clinical records and compile documentation required by Evolve as well as governing agencies.
  • Participate in and act on the results of agency quality assurance and utilization review process.
  • Ensure compliance with governing agency and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in and contribute to case review, staff meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, in services, staff continuing education activities and case consultation with other Evolve clinical staff members and consultants as required.
  • Understand and support Evolve’s philosophy and treatment modalities.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding medical issues, background and treatment.
  • Ensure client information is protected per HIPPA standards.
  • Maintain case files within the electronic health records and paper charting as needed.
  • Regularly assess treatment progress with the client, client’s family (when applicable) and clinical treatment team.
  • Stay current with updated research and best treatment practices.
  • Participate in and contribute to practice development at Evolve by appropriately acknowledging referrals, maintaining existing referral relationships, and developing new practice niches and referral sources.
  • Develop and pursue a plan for continuing professional development related to psychotherapy and areas of specialization and maintain required amount of CEU’s on a yearly basis. 
  • Participate in staff development and enrichment days.
  • Coordination of care with outside agencies and insurance carriers.
  • Occasional travel between Evolve offices for meetings and staff coverage.

  3. Familiarity with the use and benefit of psychological testing.
  4. Ability to relate the contributions of various disciplines to the therapeutic task and to make appropriate use of interdisciplinary collaborations.
  5. Ability to gain the trust of referral sources, clients and staff and to protect confidentiality of Saris and Evolve clients
  6. Active interest in learning and the continuing development of one’s abilities as a psychotherapist.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain appropriate personal and professional relationships and boundaries both within and outside of this agency.
  8. Ability to maintain one’s own health and welfare in the face of the clinical demands of practice
  9. Ability to complete clinical responsibilities and agreed additional responsibilities in and efficient complete and timely way.

  • Graduation from an accredited or state approved program with a master’s or doctoral degree in social work, counseling or psychology.
  • Training, experience and/or demonstrated interest in eating disorders.
  • Full Wisconsin Licensure or ability to be licensed.
  • Clean legal record.
  • Certification in eating disorder a plus—a willingness to obtain certification within 2 years of hire needed.
