Adolescent IOP
(Ages 12-17, 18yo are considered if still in highschool)
Evolve in Appleton Wisonsin offers Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) defined as a structured non-residential evening treatment service providing psychotherapy, family support and nutritional counseling. This program is offered four days per week, up to twelve hours. IOP is designed for people who would benefit from more intensive services than are offered at the traditional outpatient level of care. Also, those who do not require partial hospitalization, inpatient psychiatric or residential level services or are stepping down from a higher level of care and need additional support and accountability.
IOP provides a comprehensive treatment while allowing teens and their families to retain autonomy in their normal day to day activities. Most individuals can continue with work, school and family life while receiving intensive treatment for their eating disorder.
IOP is offered Monday through Thursday from 4-6pm. There is also a family group twice a month, that offers education and support to families while their teens go through the program.
Adolescent IOP is open to all teens. While in the program, they will learn practical skills from therapy modalities, participate in expressive therapies like art, psychodrama, mindful movement and animal-assisted therapy. They will be supported in understanding their eating disorder and how to cope with life in healthier ways.
